Customers therefore receive the full range of measuring devices, machines and technologies of the various brands from a single source: from practical handheld measuring devices to process-integrated, fully automated solutions – especially the latter thanks to regular close cooperation between the subsidiaries and the synergetic combination of different technologies.

Customer solutions with Mahr MWF

In 2015, the Mahr Group took over the former MWF Roland Friedrich GmbH and integratedit as Mahr MWF GmbH .The Mahr brand in Großostheim near Aschaffenburg specializes in customer-specific measuring and testing solutions, from manual measuring stations to fully automated measuring machines, in order to control the quality of production. The focus here is on technological innovation and the highest quality, which has led to special customer-specific measuring solutions, such as measuring systems for ball joints. Mahr MWF has also successfully positioned itself in the field of metrology and special fixture construction, particularly for major industrial customers. Mahr MWF alsoregularlyworksclosely with the other Mahr brands NanoFocus and Breitmeier, particularly in the fields of e-mobility, battery production and semiconductor technology.

Mahr MWF is part of Mahr Engineered Solutions, the division for customer-specific solutions in Göttingen. Mahr also manufactures these solutions at its subsidiary SMPR Metrologie Industrielle (SAS) in Rouen/France and at its sites in Providence/USA and Suzhou/China. This gives customers around the world the opportunity to implement their individual projects as required.

3D surface metrology from Nanofocus AG

In May 2018, the technology leader for 3D surface metrology NanoFocus AG from Oberhausen, founded in 1994, and Mahr concluded a cooperation agreement. Mahr now holds 59 percent of the shares in NanoFocus AG and offers its high-resolution confocal measurement systems under the name MarSurf CM. With this investment, Mahr is expanding its product range to include optical metrology, a technology that is becoming increasingly important. Thanks to its high measuring speed and accuracy, it is becoming an increasingly relevant alternative to traditional tactile measuring technology. Optical measuring systems offer a decisive advantage: they work independently of material and without contact, even on sensitive surfaces.

Breitmeier Messtechnik GmbH: Tactile and optical surface measurement

Another brand is Breitmeier Messtechnik GmbH (BMT) from Ettlingen. The company has been a subsidiary of NanoFocus AG since 2015. BMT stands for high-precision measurement technology, especially innovative roughness and waviness measurement systems for the automotive industry, but also for other sectors. The company specializes in tactile and optical surface measurements for quality assurance in laboratories and production. For this purpose, BMT manufactures customer-specific, contact and non-contact measuring devices for profile measurement and inspection of technical surfaces such as rollers, spindles and shafts or cylinder bores and liners. Contract measurements round off the range of services.

Specialist trade brand HELIOS-PREISSER

HELIOS-PREISSER  from Gammertingen in Swabia has also been a brand of the Mahr Group since 2022. For over 85 years, it has stood for high-quality hand-held measuring technology and is sold exclusively through a large network of national and international specialist dealers. HELIOS-PREISSER offers a broad and deep product range of the highest quality. This applies not only to the standard range, but also to the custom-made products produced on site, which the company designs individually according to customer specifications.
