New accreditations: Mahr expands its offer of calibration services

Metrology specialist Mahr is not only a manufacturer of high-quality measuring technology, but also an accredited service provider for calibration of handheld instruments, gage blocks and standards. In its own DAkkS laboratories, Mahr offers calibration services for numerous measuring instruments – for its own products as well as third-party products.

Mahr's calibration services are relevant to manufacturing operations in all industries. The issued certificates are easily accepted in all audits and are internationally recognized.

New accreditation in the area "Length"

Several new accreditations by the German Accreditation Body DAkkS have now been added. The Mahr laboratories are thus among the calibration laboratories with the most accreditation in the field of "length" in Germany.

The portfolio also includes demanding and rare calibration tasks: Mahr, for example, is one of only two providers in Germany that is authorized to calibrate double ball probes for thread measurements.

Calibration services as per IATF 16949:2016

Calibrations ensure the metrological traceability of measurement results and thus make a significant contribution to ensuring quality in manufacturing operations. Regular calibrations by accredited laboratories are explicitly required in the automotive industry, for example.

According to the IATF 16949: 2016, companies in the automotive industry can commission Mahr as an "external laboratory" with the calibration of their measuring instruments. If a qualified laboratory is not available for the calibration of a particular instrument, Mahr may also, in its capacity as original manufacturer, perform the calibration at the factory level.
